ServiceNow Cloud FedRAMP Certified!

Today we announced that we have officially received our Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Authority to Operate. If you are a government entity, then this is big news. If you are a Source: www.fedramp.gov/commercial enterprise, then there is good news for you here too. Let me explain….

If you are a commercial enterprise (a non-government entity without a domain name ending in .gov, .mil) the short version of FedRAMP is that the ServiceNow datacenter pair that we built for the US government to run our cloud service has been certified to be set up and operated with an exceptionally high-level of security and access controls.

The even better news is that the same security and access controls that are not US government-specific are implemented on our cloud across all of our global datacenter pairs (read more about our global infrastructure here).

If you are a government entity with a .gov, .mil or an approved government contractor, then FedRAMP certification is meaningful to you. Our FedRAMP certification is government-wide and has been granted by the Joint Accreditation Board (JAB), which is composed of General Services Administration, Department of HomelandSource: http://www.gsa.gov/portal/category/103271Security and Department of Defense representatives. Support for our FedRAMP-certified cloud services are supported by dedicated and adjudicated US citizens based in the US.

Unlike some other cloud services providers who only have some of their services FedRAMP-certified, our certification applies to all offerings on the ServiceNow Service Automation Platform. Further, since we were approved by the JAB and not by a single government agency we are now part of an exclusive list of cloud companies. You can see the list of government-wide JAB authorizations and single agency authorizations on the FedRAMP website.

FedRAMP certification is yet another milestone reached by ServiceNow as we change how work gets done – now even more for US government entities!
